Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. The father of her is Nigerian and Swiss as well as the mother of her is English. She went to The Brit School when she was 14. In London she attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was earned. As a student at the academy and performing in numerous stage productions, such as King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe launched her acting career through the film Storm Damage. She has appeared as a guest for Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her breakthrough role came in 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was co-starring Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. After the film's success, Madekwe played Elisha in her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared in six episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi, the lead role in the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe starred in the 2008 comedy film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. Her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport for ABC's show The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just the duration of two weeks The CW and then it came to an end. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. In late May 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe who had played a regular role in the two previous seasons, had decided to quit the show following a guest appearance in the premiere episode of the season's new episode. On the show Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba from 2014 until 2016. Then, in June of 2012 she was married to her long-time love, actor Iddo Goldberg. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and he is also a part of the cast on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. She was raised by both parents Roy and Patty as well as four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's athletic brothers played baseball during summers as well as hockey in winter. Ashley was never a walker, she was a dancer, and at age just two years old, she started Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley was addicted to dance since that time. Ashley continued to compete throughout high school in top divisions such as ballet, tap, Jazz Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and much more. Top soloists at major competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more were awarded to Ashley.
