Taylor Russell McKenzie was conceived in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 18 the 18th of July, 1994. She also grew up in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. [1][2] Russell was born to an African-American father and a white mother, is biracial and grew up primarily with her mother's side of the family. She told me that as a young girl she felt unaccepted by her peers because of the complexion of her skin. Their parents were struggling financially, and were constantly shifting, having to leave their lives 16 times to follow her father's profession. In spite of this, Russell mentioned how in her early days "there was always a chance for reinvention, to create something new."As a child, Russell was already artistically at first. she would like to pursue a career in ballet. She later wanted to be a painter. When she was 18, she attended her first acting class, and finally found her place. She saved the money from work to buy a car and drove to Los Angeles to audition. When her money ran out then she would go back home to work until she was able to earn enough to be able to audition again. This routine was followed for four more years until she was offered her first television part.
